Written and directed by Frimpong-Manso, the film follows two sisters who stage fake ghost encounters in an attempt to avoid eviction. Their scheme takes an unexpected turn when they inadvertently summon real supernatural entities, setting off a series of chaotic events.
According to MyJoyOnline MyJoyOnline , the film draws on Ghanaian folklore, childhood ghost stories and traditional beliefs about the supernatural.
A familiar cast in a new comedy
The film features Joselyn Dumas, Yvonne Okoro, Omari Dwamena, George Quaye, Rhoda Ampene, David Dontoh, Mawuli Gavor and Anita Erskine.
Speaking after the film's media premiere on 20 October, Frimpong-Manso described the production as potentially the funniest film her team has made.
In an earlier interview interview , she explained that she wanted to approach ghost stories from a lighter perspective, drawing on memories of the stories and myths she encountered growing up.
She also noted that comedy requires considerable effort, despite the perception that it is an easy genre to produce.
Building on a body of Ghanaian stories
Agency for the Dead adds to Frimpong-Manso's filmography, which includes The Perfect Picture, A Sting in a Tale, Adams Apples, 6 Hours to Christmas, Contract, Potomanto, Love or Something Like That, Rebecca and Potato Potahto.

With Agency for the Dead, Frimpong-Manso turns to supernatural comedy, using familiar Ghanaian folklore as the foundation for a story about deception, unexpected consequences and the boundary between the living and the dead.
