Gender Lens Africa was born from a simple belief: the way a story is reported shapes what people understand about Africa.
Bridget Mensah is a Ghanaian communications strategist, writer and editor with more than 10 years’ experience across journalism, media, corporate communications and gender-focused advocacy. She is the founding Corporate Affairs Manager at Ghana Digital Centres Ltd. (GDCL), where she built the organisation’s communications function from the ground up. She also works as a communications consultant with Equality Now, writing and shaping media and editorial content on women’s rights, gender-based violence, child marriage and access to justice.
Bridget writes the weekly Her Space column for the Business and Financial Times (B&FT) and has collaborated with international media organisations including Voice of America, Deutsche Welle, CBN Africa and the BBC.
For Bridget, Gender Lens Africa is about changing the questions journalism asks. Not just what happened, but whose experience is missing, whose voice is absent, and whose interests are being served.
